This was a
Mother’s Day not to forget! I had the pleasure of staying at the
Luxe Hotel Sunset Boulevard in Bel-Air and enjoyed my stay relaxing with not a care in the world. I relaxed in a private, wonderful room with comfy furniture, I had a fantastic dinner at the
On Sunset Restaurant, and then was treated to a stress relieving body wrap at the
Luxe Spa. It was the perfect
Mother’s Day getaway. Located in the hills of
Bel Aire the
Luxe peacefully sits aloof from the stressfulness of every day traffic from the city life.

The
Luxe Hotel Sunset Boulevard is a newly-renovated luxury hotel that made me feel at ease and secure the moment I entered the lobby. I was warmly welcomed with bright smiles and the feeling of high-class importance by the staff. I felt right at home in my room which are fully furnished with stylish custom made furniture that was so comfy. Each room features a flat screen TV, an iPod base station, plush designer linens with feather comforter, daily turndown service, air-conditioning, direct dial telephone, voicemail, mini bar, on-demand movies and video games with Web-TV. My guestroom also included a spacious patio that had a beautiful view.

Restaurant that includes fresh entrée salads, comfort food-style sandwiches such as the Hay Tuna Melt with Seared Hay, Swiss Cheese, Tomato and Dijon Mustard on fresh baked Olive Bread; and entrees such as Black Mussels “Pays Anne” with White Wine, Apple wood Bacon, Shallots, Crème France and Shoestring Potatoes; and Roasted Organic Chicken Breast with Potato Gnocchi, Sautéed Haricots Vert with Tarragon-Citrus Pan Sauce. For dinner, there is a California fresh inspired menu that features appetizers such as Baked Crispy Goat Cheese Salad with Mixed Baby Greens, Pickled Zucchini, Roasted Baby Beets with a Honey Vinaigrette, and Ahi Tuna Tartar with Heirloom Tomato-Yuzu Broth and Taro Chips.

Dinner entrees include Braised Short Rib Risotto in Port Glaze with Shaved Parmesan and Extra Virgin Olive Oil; Roasted Jidori Chicken Breast with Seasonal Mushroom Ragout, and Maui Onion Sauce; Herb Roasted Rack of Lamb with Olive Oil Mashed Potatoes, Caponata, and Purple Mustard Sauce. Sides include Shoestring Fries, Glazed Baby Vegetables, Carrot-Ginger Puree, Grilled Olive Oil Asparagus, Roasted Provencal Fingerling Potatoes and Crispy Herb Spaetzle.
We started off with the fresh and fabulous Belgian endives asian pear salad with a creamy blue cheese and arugula candies walnuts, and lemon dressing. Next, was the Ahi Tuna Tartar with Heirloom Tomato-Yuzu Broth and Taro Chips that truly made my tummy satisfied.

The entrees finally arrived: Entrée number one was cooked to perfection - Herb Roasted Rack of Lamb abundantly drizzled with Purple Mustard Sauce snuggled with Olive Oil Mashed Potatoes and Caponata. The chef created a piece of art with Entrée number two - Tyme-roasted Alaskan halibut, Saffron orzo, baby ratatouille, drizzled with lemon caper sauce. This soft, fluffy, fresh fish was lightly seasoned, but if you’re a salty person like me, then you might want to ask the chef to add a little more seasoning. My favorite was entrée number three - the perfectly, medium rare grilled 8 oz masculine filet mignon, mascarpone polenta cake, wilted rapino & classic béarnaise sauce that added the oh-so right flavor. All our entrees were eagerly delivered to our table in a timely manner by our waiter Chris. I didn’t weigh myself for a couple of days, but eating at
On Sunset was worth the few pounds since I rarely get to eat like a queen. My mouth is watering as I write this.

Ultimate Wrap. This divine treatment includes the best of everything! My skin was treated to a thorough dry brush exfoliation and application of body serum. Next, warm herbally infused oils were applied to my whole body. Then I was swaddled in warm linens and melted into the heat while my practitioner massaged my aching feet and head for thirty minutes. I was in such a state of comfort and relaxation.
My full body Be Well™ Massage lasted sixty minutes, but you can opt to have a ninety minutes. I had 120 minutes of ultimate joy! My practitioner dissolved all my tension - hitting the right trigger points. And all the while, she was so concerned (asking me) if the pressure was comfortable for me.
