A perfect blend of class, style, history, architecture, and luxury- the Jumeirah Essex House defines the quintessential New York City experience. As you enter the hotel lobby, the opulent décor and rich color palette of berry tones and gold accents provides a warm and inviting ambiance.  The architectural and interior design aesthetic of the hotel is full of detail and splendor, with a classic appeal.  As you step through its doors, the Jumeirah Essex House welcomes you with elegance.  From the attentive, helpful staff of bell men and front desk associates that great you upon arrival to the guest amenities and convenient features of each room, the hotel presents a pleasant introduction and a memorable first impression.

As one of Manhattan’s elite Art Deco masterpieces, the Jumeirah Essex House embodies the true essence of luxury and historical beauty.  Since its opening in 1931, the hotel has served as the perfect setting for all things lavish.  Whether you wish to experience fine dining at the hotel’s internationally renowned South Gate restaurant, indulge in extravagant pampering from The Spa, use one of the hotel’s gorgeous event rooms for an elaborate gala or a business meeting, or just simply enjoy a peaceful night’s sleep at one of the city’s best hotels, the Jumeirah Essex House can accommodate your requests with ease.  As a first-choice hotel for many of the world’s elite, Jumeirah Essex House strives to maintain its pristine reputation and exceed all expectations.

With over ninety million dollars spent on refurbishing the hotel in 2006, the hotel’s modern upgrades look better than ever!  With its historical integrity and unique architecture intact, the improvements have only enhanced the Jumeirah Essex House.  From the gorgeous marble flooring to the large flat-screen TVs that swivel to the plush and oh-so-comfy beds with the perfect pillows, each room is elegantly designed, spacious, and certainly full of comfortable, beautiful luxury.

It is very rare that you actually feel that glorious “at home” feeling when you’re “away from home.”  Whether you’re traveling for business or pleasure, you want your hotel room to add to your experience; you want to feel comfortable.  Upon entering my suite for the first time, I was certainly comfortable.  With fabulous views of the city through each window, tons of closet space, an inviting sitting area, and a refrigerator stocked with drinks and goodies, I felt “at home.”  The hotel staff was professional and helpful, eager to provide assistance and accommodate all needs and requests.  My hotel-appointed personal butler, Dulce, was amazing!  She was thorough and polite; she went out of her way to be sure I was enjoying my stay.

All in all, my stay at the Jumeirah Essex House was a delightful experience.  The hotel’s prime location added to its alluring qualities. Premiere up-scale shopping, incredible museums, historic landmarks, and Central Park were only steps away.  There is so much culture and character in Manhattan’s history.  As a monumental building that proudly represents a piece of the city’s colorful and revolutionary past, the Jumeirah Essex House has somehow found a way to capture that culture and maintain its world-class status for over 75 years.  Stunning and lavish, yet personal, the Jumeirah Essex House is a top-tier hotel with personality and poise, one that will hopefully remain an iconic fixture in the city for years to come.
