Safe Passage celebrated Annual Gala at JW Marriott LA Live Center on Sunday October 7, 2012. Hosted by tv's famous celebrity Extreme Makeover Dentist, Dr. Bill Dorfman (The Doctors & Extreme Makeover). Celebrity supporters who attended include: Robert Newman, Ian Buchanan, Fiona Hunter, Chas Dean, Louie Van Amsel (Dancing With The Stars). Event included live performances by Kirsty Maldonado (Pentatonix) and Saint Tone.
Jessica Simpson donated dresses & shoes from her fashion line Looks of Love to Safe Passage clients for the event. These women are having a Prestigious Makeover from the best celebrity experts. Dr. Bill Dorfman, together with the beauty Makeover Team and Kim Vo Salon . Guests were entertained by singers Kirsty Maldonado and student Sydney Banner from Buckley School, with a touching song about smiling and also heard powerful testimonies from recepients of their new smiles. Dentists Jonathan Rudner, DDS and Grant Loosvelt, DDS were also awarded for their contributions to the charity and makeovers.
The Safe Passage Annual Gala is a Domestic Violence Awareness Charity Event. The event began with a reception at 4pm and included a silent auction and live entertainment. 2012 Safe Passage Graduates shared their stories and recent accomplishments and new lifestyle, free from abuse, with perfectly aligned pearly white smiles as recepients of Dr. Dorfmans reconstructed makeover smiles.
Legislators, Physicians, Celebrities, Advocates, Law Enforcement Leaders and Domestic Violence Survivors all joined together to celebrate over 12 years of service in Los Angeles at The Safe Passage Annual Gala! Safe Passage a 501(c) 3 Non-profit organization plans to expand its vision and extraordinary legacy. Safe Passage has transformed the lives of hundreds of women and children helping them break the cycle of domestic violence. Safe Passage Founder Trish Steele recently received President's Volunteer Service Award.
In 2011 and 2012 Safe Passage was honored by Los Angeles City Controller Wendy Greuel and Los Angeles Councilman Dennis Zine.
