Girlfriend’s Guide to Divorce #GG2D its Bravo’s first original scripted series, the series had the world premiere at the Austin Film Festival 2014. A TV series about real women with work, children and family problems. 

The show is about Abby McCarthy in her 40’s (Lisa Edelstein,House”), a self-help book author and guru of all things family, who shocks the world when she reveals that her seemingly perfect life has all been a lie. After publicly admitting that she has separated from her husband, Jake (Paul Adelstein, “Private Practice”), she goes on a journey of self-discovery and attempts to salvage her career, get back in the dating game, and figure out her new identity as single woman. As she starts to navigate life as a single woman, Abby turns to her new divorced friends, rather than her married ones, for advice. Her friend Lyla (Janeane Garofalo, “Reality Bites”) is a legendary no-nonsense entertainment lawyer who is in a constant battle with her ex-husband, who is locked in a fierce cash-and-custody battle.  Phoebe (Beau Garrett,Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior”) is a former model and budding entrepreneur who has a very unique relationship with her ex, who cheerfully supplements her already hefty settlement as she throws in a booty call now and then.

The series also stars J. August Richards (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.), C. Thomas Howell (The Outsiders), Julianna Guill (Crazy, Stupid, Love), Michael Weaver (The Joe Schmo Show) and Charles Mesure (Desperate Housewives). The pilot also includes a cameo by Carrie Fisher as Abby’s book editor, Cat. 

Inspired by the Girlfriends' Guide book series by Vicki IovineGirlfriends’ Guide to Divorce is produced by Universal Cable Productions with Marti Noxon, Vicki Iovine, Meryl Poster, Robert Duncan McNeill, and Liz Kruger and Craig Shapiro serving as Executive Producers. The show has real-life concepts that Marti Noxon thinks viewers will relate to.

The loss of your marriage may leave you struggling with what it means to be a family and may redefine who you are and what’s important to you.  Women in the journey of self-discovery while facing a divorce leads to interesting and different paths. Executive Producer and Creator of Girlfriend’s Guide to Divorce for Bravo, Noxon is also Executive Producer and Co-Creator of Unreal for Lifetime, which will debut on that network in 2015. Noxon has written and executive produced for many critically acclaimed shows including Buffy the Vampire SlayerGrey’s Anatomy, Private Practice, Brothers & SistersPoint Pleasant, and Still Life. She has also acted as consulting producer for Mad MenPrison BreakAngel, and Glee. Noxon’s film credits include I Am Number Four and Fright Night. Her directing debut, the self-penned To the Bone, will shoot in 2015. A graduate of UC Santa Cruz, Noxon currently lives in Hollywood with her two children.
