‘Eddie the Eagle’ is inspired by true events. It’s a very inspirational and uplifting story with Taron Egerton (“Kingsman: The Secret Service” , “Legend”) playing Michael “Eddie” Edwards, a young, awkward, and courageous British ski-jumper. Despite having no experience in the sport he never stops believing in himself as he tries to get a former Olympic ski-jumper “Bronson Peary” played by Hugh Jackman (“X-Men” franchise, “The Wolverine”, “Les Miserables”) to coach and prepare him for the 1988 Calgary Winter Olympics. “Bronson” is rebellious and charismatic, but obviously distressed by his own frustrations and fears from the past with the sport. The entire nation is counting on “Eddie the Eagle” as he takes on the establishment and wins the hearts of sports fans around the world by making an improbable and historic showing at the 1988 Calgary Winter Olympics.
