Hollywood Party with Kat Kramer - Part 2

Well folks, I'll be hitting all four Guild Award galas this weekend!  On Saturday night at the Beverly Hilton, the ADG awards will be the place to be that's for Art Directors, and the presenters include Warren Beatty, Charles Durning, Jason Ritter, and Goran Visnjic, among others.

A few blocks away, The Costume Designers Guild Awards will happen in the ballroom of The Beverly Wilshire Hotel.  On Sunday, I'll be attending both The Golden 'Eddies' (honoring the editors) at The Beverly Hilton Hotel, where Julia Sweeney will emcee, and presenters including Josh Brolin, Michael Madsen, and Rosario Dawson will pay tribute to Quentin Tarantino, who will receive the ACE Golden Eddie filmmaker of the year award, Johnson and Frank J. Urioste.

Then at The Century Plaza, the best cinematographers in the business will mix n' mingle at The ASC Awards.  Ron Howard will be given The Board of Governors Award, and Allen Daviau will get the lifetime achievement award. Wow!  Should be hot!

The two are long-time collaborators, including SOMETHING THE LORD MADE and WALKOUT.

I had a grande ole time at the 44th annual ICG Publicists Awards last week at The Beverly Hilton Hotel. The popular luncheon boasted Jimmy Kimmel, once again, as the emcee he's dubbed it the 'pubies.'  Presenters included funny man Will Ferrell, who gave Amy Pascal and Michael Lynton (co-chairman and chairman and chief executive officer of Sony Pictures Entertainment) the motion picture showmanship award, George Lucas who presented Sid Ganis with the lifetime achievement award, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, who was witty in her remarks about the 2007 television showman of the year Nina Tassler.

Ganis humbly said that being the president of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences is 'a marketing PR gig if ever there was one' and commented that in today's climate of 'the era of spin, it's important to maintain integrity, dignity, in a time where people look for dirt where none exists.'  He continued, 'a good publicist can be a valuable asset for all.' Other presenters included the hilarious Sara Silverman, James Denton, and Adriana Barraza of Babel.  The gift bags at this event are always the best, filled with DVD's and other goodies'
