If you live on the West of the 405 and you like socializing while sipping tasty cocktails, you should check out the newest bar from John Terzian, Brian Toll, and Adam Koral called the Shorebar. It is located on W Channel Road between Hungry Cat and Giorgio Baldi. “We created this bar out of the bare need for our friends and family so they can come and hang out on the Westside”, says Adam Koral. At 27, Adam seems wise and self-confident, talking about his new venture outside of Hollywood. Maybe it is because he went to culinary school and lived in Belize for a while. Or maybe it’s because the drink menu was put together by Mixologist Vincenzo Marianella (Copa D’oro) who is famous for his sophisticated cocktail repertoire.
Adam loves going to the farmer’s market on Main Street in Santa Monica and picking fresh produce every week. That is how he sets the tone which fruits and vegetables are being used in the drinks.
Inspired by local seaside haunts such as Jonathan Beach Club and the Shutters Hotel, the Shorebar has a very high-end yet relaxed feel. The bar is best described as “ Nantucket chic” and has ivory, brass and nautical art accents and was designed by Rosetta Getty.
Thursdays and Saturdays there will be a DJ and upstairs Mezzanin level offers a members- only bar, a lite bites menu from local restaurants, private lockers and restrooms.
You can find a wide variety of delicious hand-crafted cocktails on the menu such as Jojo, Antidote, Moondance, Sycamore, Mesa Mule and Ok Koral. The spirits and wells are high end and there is a special “under the boardwalk “menu that is geared towards gentlemen in the bar. Drinks like Bitter Breeze, Highlands, Ladies Man and the Good Ole Boy are truly delicious. Don’t shy away from ordering classic cocktails like a Manhattan, Margarita, Daiquiri or Dirty Martini.
