Newport Beach BeerFest Review - Beer, Beach, Music and More Beer

RockStar Beer Productions has taken the beer festival and turned it into an experience of taste, sights and sounds and the Newport Beach BeerFest held at the Newport Dunes Beach Resort was a heavenly experience for every beer aficionado in attendance.

Breweries were lined up on the sand of the Dunes and the timing was perfect as the sunset in Orange County as the BeerFest was kicking off created a setting unlike any other beer event you likely have ever partaken in. The event kicked off at six for VIP ticketholders and that upgrade was well worth it. Not only were VIP guests treated to an extra hour of tasting, but that hour also included 12 breweries that were only for those guests. That amazing lineup included; Mission Brewery, Baja Brewing Co., Valiant Brewing, Evans Brewing, Fauna, Border Pyscho, San Fernando Brewing, Uniboure Brewery, Wendlandt and AquaMala.

The wide ranging breweries from all over the country are amazing, but RockStar Beer really elevates the experience with the musical lineup that they put together. The music got going almost as soon as the beer started pouring with a raucous performance by Whitney Peyton, who was then followed up by Kottonmouth Kings. The main event of the night had to be Hoobastank who had the crowd in such a frenzy when they went into "The Way," that you thought the singing from everyone would tear the tent down. To finish the night off, Alien Ant Farm closed with a great set and at that point no one wanted the night to end.

Knee Deep

The beer was so plentiful it didn't matter where you walked, the beach, the music tent, while getting food at the food trucks, there where so many breweries there was no possible way to try them all. Some of the highlights of the night included; Golden Road Brewing from Los Angeles, Drake's Brewing Company, Green Flash, 10 Barrel, Left Coast and Hangar 24.
