National Margarita Day – The Perfect Way to Kickoff the Weekend

National Margarita Day falls on Friday this year, meaning that February 22nd can actually turn into a National Margarita Weekend if can deal with three straight days of fun! Splash Magazines Worldwide has put together a list of cocktails to help you get a little creative this National Margarita Day.

Harry Morton’s Pink Taco is going to help Los Angeles celebrate National Margarita Day at their two locations in West Hollywood and Century City. Toast to the tequila holiday with half-off of the Rock n' Roll Mexican restaurant's most popular margarita, "The Cock Fight," and Happy Hour from 4pm to 7pm at Pink Taco Sunset Strip and from 3pm to 7pm at Pink Taco Century City.

Pink Taco Cock Fight Margarita

The Cock Fight ($6)

Avion Blanco tequila, agave nectar, fresh lime juice, fresh seasonal fruit and organic cucumber, muddled, shaken and served over ice

$3 Beers, $5 Margaritas, House Cocktails, Sangria and Wine

Sauza® Gold Margarita

Serves 1


1 1/2 parts Sauza® Reposado 100% Agave Tequila

1/2 part John Dekuyper & Sons™ O3 Premium Orange Liqueur

1/4 cup fresh squeezed lime juice

1/4 cup fresh squeezed orange juice

Ice, salt and orange for serving


In a shaker filled with ice, combine lime juice, Sauza® Reposado 100% Agave Tequila, and liqueur. Shake vigorously. Strain into a glass filled with ice and rimmed with salt (optional). Garnish with an orange wedge. Salud!


Serves 9


1 can Sauza® Blue Silver 100% Agave Tequila

1 bottle light beer

1 can frozen limeade

1 can water


Pour limeade and beer into a pitcher with ice. Fill limeade can with Sauza® Blue Silver and pour into pitcher. Finally, add a can of water, stir and enjoy.

Sauza® Pineapple Lime Cilantro Margarita

Serves 6


2 cups Pineapple Juice

1/8 cup cilantro leaf, minced

1/4 cup fresh lime juice

1/4 cup orange juice

6 parts Sauza® Blue 100% Agave Silver Tequila

2 parts orange liqueur

2 cups ice

1 lime and 1 orange for garnish



Rim your glasses with salt by rubbing the edge with a lime wedge and dipping into a plate of salt. In a shaker combine pineapple juice, cilantro, lime juice, orange juice, tequila, orange liqueur and ice. Shake until cold. Serve up or on the rocks. Salud!

Sauza® Peach Margaritas


Serves 6






8 parts Sauza® Blue Silver 100% Agave Tequila


4 parts DeKuyper® Peach Schnapps


2 parts JDK & Sons™ O3 Premium Orange Liqueur


6 parts fresh squeezed lime juice


12 parts Peach Nectar




Sugar for rim


1 Peach for garnish




Prepare glasses with sugar rims if desired. In a pitcher filled with ice, combine Sauza® Blue Silver, Peach Schnapps, JDK & Sons™ O3 Premium Orange Liqueur, lime juice and peach nectar. Stir to combine. Chill and serve over ice in prepared glasses.

Sauza® Banana Margarita

Serves 9


1 13-oz can of frozen Pineapple-Orange-Banana Concentrate

13 parts Sauza® Blue Reposado 100% Agave Tequila

4 frozen bananas

1 can of light beer

juice of 3 limes


Combine the first 4 ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Pour into a pitcher, add beer and stir. Serve with or without ice. Optional garnish--Brown Sugar Broiled Bananas! If you want...rim your glasses with brown sugar!
