Christmas lights line the streets of Woodland Hills and they are especially festive on Ventura Blvd near the I.C.O.N Lab Salon located at 20010 Ventura Blvd, Woodland Hills, Ca 91364 where I spent the greater part of Wednesday evening being pampered and readied for the holiday parties.

One of the products that every guest was gifted with was CURE replenishing spray.  It's I.C.O.N's #1 selling product and is especially good for dry, over stressed, and unruly hair. 20% of all proceeds from each purchase go directly to help fund breast cancer reserach through Stop Cancer. This product is just one step more to help fight the disease.

Her family, plagued by breast cancer, I.C.O.N.'s Creative Director /Founder Chiara Scudieri followed in the footsteps with a positive diagnosis of her own.  For the past six months, Chiara has famously fought her way through multiple rounds of chemotherapy and numerous surgeries.  Chiara recently stated, "Some believe life is a struggle.  I do not struggle as much as I fight. And, I will win."  She will not give up on finding a CURE and neither will the company.  Spreading the message from one beauty chair, one client at a time, or through sales of CURE, one bottle at  a time, I.C.O.N's #CureForACause campaign is loud and proud.

I.C.O.N. Lab Salon Review - Mirabella Products used by Jasmine

My stylist, Hayk Hakobyan, started me off with washing my hair in ICONs specialty shampoo.  Before he started, he places a warm towel under my neck to relax me and massaged my scalp.  That felt great, but once he put the "Cocktail" in my hair to deep condition, moisturize and hydrate, it felt superb.  Just prior to going under the dryer, he added their special "Mesh," Styling cream to bring out my curls and reduce the frizziness often associated with curly hair.  "Making our clients feel relaxed and pampered is part of our job," Hayk told me.  "We do everything to help them feel good."

Michelle Lepire, director of operations, along with Stacey Barker, their publicist from Jade Umbrella, guided me to my next step in glamorizing me for the evening.

They directed me next to Jasmine Dashtziad, the makeup artist and educator, who is a loyal Mirabella user.  Mirabella, a professional makeup line, can be found in major hair and makeup studios.  She pointed out some of the newer products for the holiday as the glaze for sparkles on the eyes and face and stated that reds are really coming back as far as lip colors.  Since my eyebrows are light, she showed me how to use a slightly darker eye shadow to shape by brows and warned me not to use too dark a shade.

Next, my nails were done by Nichole McAuley, who also does makeup and hair for various productions and celebrities as Kaya Jones of Pussycat Dolls.

While waiting for my nails to dry, I admired the Sara Horne jewelry's latest boho-chic collection of the Southern California elemental influence, which she custom makes for clients.

I finished up the evening with a facial by the Japanese whiz esthetician, Eiko Page, who described the various types of facials that she does. These run from $70-$140 and go on for several hours.  Massaging my neck while she worked on my face she talked about the products that she uses - Murad and Circadia, the later as a chemical peel, being better for the more mature skin.  Murad's resurgence line deals with thinning skin and loss of elasticity, while their Essential C eye cream hydrates the eye area.  Their environmental shield helps with age and sun spots as well as uneven texture and tone and fine lines or wrinkles.   "I really like the results I get from these products and can see improvement almost immediately."  Besides the I.C.O.N. store, some of the products can be purchased at Sephora stores.
