RA Bar Beauty Review - A Place Where You Can Be Yourself

Hidden in a private cul de sac off of Santa Monica boulevard where you can be greeted by a valet service, sits RA - Bar Beauty, a former house that is now an inclusive salon that caters both to male and female customers - many of them celebrities - who wish privacy while doing their hair, color, hair extensions, make-up, facials.   Despite the Santa Monica address, you have to peek around the corner to find the entrance and the first visit might confuse you.

There are no big windows here for passer-bys to view who comes or goes and the consideration of what the client needs, engineered by Jason  Moyer (the concierge), is of upmost importance.  "People are most vulnerable when they are without their make-up and their hair steaming with silver foils.  You don't have to dress up to be here. There are no paparazzi to see you."

A year ago three master stylists - Whitney Olson, Kennedy Van Dyke, and Audrey Ray (aka The Trifecta) were told that  Warren Tricomi - where they worked for was not only closing, but that they had 72 hours to find a new job.  What were they to do?  Each of them wanted to continue taking care of their clients and giving their best to those that they served.  Pooling their resources, the women decided to start a unique center that would be tucked away from the hustle of the street.  It would be a calm river in an ocean of noise - a place for artists by artists.

Whitney was voted one of the "Three Best Stylists Who Will Make You Look Fab" by Haute Living Magazine and has worked with several production companies, as well.  Kennedy's specialty in extensions include keratin individuals, beaded individuals, sewn in wefts, and tape in wefts.  While Audrey's expertise is in color and styling.

"We get our clients by referral and that is the best way. People trust what other people say.  Everything we do is raw and organic.   I don't believe in any of those coupon services.  Hair cut prices run from $86 to $156+. Other prices can be seen on their page.  But you get the quality, you are paying for," said Whitney.  She, herself, comes from a long line of Academy Award winning stylists and has been a beauty consultant for many years.  The three owners are dedicated to educating themselves and their clients to the most cutting edge beauty techniques.

While she likes many brands, Whitney especially endorses Kevin Murphy products from Australia. A green company, not well known in the United States yet, it is skin care for your hair.

For anyone using extensions, they find that their partner Hair Lingerie works best for their clients.  Among their services are blowouts, style, cuts, color, highlights, makeup applications, consultations, brow and lash tinting, extensions, organic spray tanning, and much more.
