22-year-old Washington born Tim Urban made a glowing entrance into America’s living rooms during Season 9 of American Idol with his smooth sounding renditions of “Hallelujah” and “Elvis”. After placing seventh overall in the competition, Tim went on to tour with his fellow Idol finalists and released his own iTunes chart-topping six song EP “Heart of Me”.
Tim’s popular blend of acoustic guitar and his own lyrics have truly struck a chord with America’s teen market. Still unsigned, Urban is busy writing songs for his much-anticipated second album. Fans of Tim got a sneak-peak earlier this year when he performed for the “Eco-Hollywood” television special on CBS.
With two siblings currently serving in the U.S. military, Tim is a strong supporter of America’s veterans and actively seeks out opportunities to show off his patriotic spirit such as the upcoming 4th of July concert in Philadelphia.
Perhaps the best indication of where Tim’s career might also be heading came during his guest appearance on the Ellen DeGeneres show when Ellen, speaking to Tim’s potential as an actor, noted that “[he] belongs on Glee.” Indeed, Tim and his manager welcome script submissions of all kinds from casting agents and producers. Tim is already finding time in his busy music schedule for classes under the guidance of a full-time acting coach and plans to devote more before long.
