Rita Garabedian - In Pursuit of the“Real” American Dream

Rita Garabedian has had her fair share of ups and downs on her journey to the big times. Through her perils, she has learned that success obtained through hard work and determination only makes for a bittersweet rise to the top. Rita was thrown into the film and television industry after coming to LA following the tragic devastation of Hurricane Katrina.

Having always been a Southern girl at heart, she soon adapted to the glamorous Hollywood lifestyle. Rita began her career in the corporate world and soon found she was meant for bigger and better things. She soon left corporate America in pursuit of the“Real” American dream. Rita started her career on a new and upcoming dating show, "Excused" and soon after, she was selected to be a semi-finalist for a popular VHI reality show called "Tough Love".

Opportunities continued to come her way and her latest venture had her on an upcoming adventure reality show (from the producers of Survivor and Amazing Race). Rita hopes to continue her rise to the top with more incoming offers. Being of Armenian heritage, Rita wants to better America’s perception of Armenians on TV.  She comes from a loving and traditional Armenian household, but had to overcome family pressure to marry young and become a housewife.

She wanted more for herself and set out to accomplish greater ambitions in life. Rita sees herself as an empowering woman trying to make it in a man’s world. Rita idolizes such woman as Elizabeth Taylor with her grace, beauty and elegance. Rita also aims to be as aspiring as Jackie Kennedy providing strength when others need it the most. Whennot working,

Rita enjoys the great outdoors and can often be seen cruising around town exploring every inch of LA. Rita has an avid passion to help others and often dedicates her time to volunteer work. Rita believes inner beauty far surpasses outer appearances and tries to set a good example for young women growing up in an image-obsessed society.

Rita wants to be a better role model for young girls and would love to one day give back with a charity of her own. Rita continues to live by her motto that: We make a living by what we get but we make a life by what we give.
