Maria-Elena Laas appears in several feature films in 2012. In the spring, she debuts in “Swerve” (starring Beth Grant and John Diehl), a Sci-Fi film that takes place in a post-apocalyptic future. She also co-stars in “Unknowns”, as ‘Detective Rios’ who is investigating a series of actor murders surrounding a fake snuff film gone wrong. Later in the year, Maria appears in ‘Found Footage’ film, “The Killing of Leonard Riley.” Her other upcoming roles include the lead in late-summer release of “Lotto” and “American Weapon.”
In between filming, Maria has worked on several big advertising campaigns. More notably, she appears in an upcoming Michele Gondry NESPRESO campaign opposite George Clooney. Maria is currently the face of GARNIER’s beauty care line commercials in both English and Latin markets. Her looks earned her a spot on a webisode series for MANGO clothing entitled “What Should I Wear By Mango.” DANNON partnered her alongside John Stamos in one of their more recent campaigns.
Her previous film credits include Alan Cumming's "Suffering Man's Charity," the blockbuster movie "The Hot Chick" (starring Rob Schneider and Anna Faris), "Airplane Disasters," "Pastor Shepherd" (opposite Danny Trejo,) "Kill The Habit," and "Lunatics, Poets." Maria also worked on two short films, “Sold” and “Loverly.”
Born in Puerto Rico, raised in the Saudi Arabia & Japan, Maria-Elena began modeling career at 13. She has over 90 international commercials & print campaigns under her belt, some of which include Miller Lite, Carlsberg, Coors Lite, Budweiser, Ford, Target, and a. She currently resides in Southern California.
