Born in Sofia, Bulgaria in 1991, Kate was adopted when she was only nine months old. In her new American family included esteemed choreographer Mario Melodia of the Kenley Players, a successful summer stock company that nurtured the talents of Cyd Charisse, Karen Prunzik, and Gloria Swanson, to name a few.

Kate grew up in Pennington, NJ and attended theater camp in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania every summer. Her childhood was heavenly - she had loving parents, a feisty little sister, a cat, and a dog. When she was about ten years old, her mother and father came to teach a ballroom class at her elementary school. Watching her parents dance gracefully together sparked her interest. She knew then at such a young age that she wanted to be onstage. Her mother, Dianne Melodia, and her father, Mark Melodia, are old pros as well. Dianne was Mario's dance assistant and toured Europe for five years with the Pirin Folk Ensemble, one of the best folk groups in the world. Mark was with the Kenley Players since he was nine. He also did a bunch of industrial shows around the country as a young adult.

Kate's parents have always been her influences and idols. Right now, Kate hopes to achieve a Broadway career. Later in her life, she would like to pursue a career in television and cinema. Her big dream is to direct, write, choreograph, and star in a muscial movie that will be compared to the likes of "Singin' in the Rain," her favorite movie of all time.
