Vivacious, charming, sexy and fun-loving are just a few words that come to mind within moments of meeting exotic beauty – Joyce Giraud. This hot Latina has not only captivated the world of beauty and television with her international appeal, she ignited the silver screen after winning the lead role of “Dona Flor” in Coralito Tiene Dos Maridos, a modern day version of the well known classic Latin love story. Joyce proved she was “not just a pretty face,” demonstrating her versatility, strength and undeniable appeal as an actress- in this – her acting debut. As a follow-up, and after just two weeks in Los Angeles, Joyce landed the co-starring role of “Piper” in USA Network’s Good vs. Evil. Two weeks later, she won the co-starring role in a Pilot titled The Freddy Soto Project and then Joyce captured the lead role in the new national Coca-Cola commercial campaign.
Clairol named her their International Cover Girl and Spokesmodel creating a whirlwind of excitement throughout the beauty industry – as Joyce was the FIRST Latino to win this prestigious contract. The nationally televised talent show Destination Stardom, named Joyce “Best New Star Model of 2000.” It goes without saying that Joyce is no stranger to the spotlight. She has not only graced the covers of countless national and international magazines, numerous national and international commercials – but Joyce has the distinction of being the First Latin SuperModel to have entire catalogs and magazines devoted to, and featuring only one person – Joyce Giraud!!!
She has been a correspondent for E! Entertainment Television, hosting several of their series (Wild on the Islands, Wild on Puerto Rico as well as Wild on Waikiki). Joyce has been an International VJ for MTV Philippines, featured on Access Hollywood, Extra and ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT. Joyce has also served as the Host and Emcee for various Internationally Televised Specials and Concerts. In addition, Joyce was crowned 1994 Miss World Puerto Rico, 1996 Queen of the Atlantis International, 1997 Miss Venus International as well as the 1998 Miss Universe Puerto Rico where she was the second runner-up at the Miss Universe Pageant.
Since moving to L.A., Joyce has kept busy working as a spokesmodel and as an actress. She says she is working on her life-long goal of having the opportunity to hear her name at the Oscars. In the meanwhile, she landed a guest star-reoccurring role as Ursula, the dream girl of Disney’s The Suite Life of Zack and Cody. She was the lead on the America’s Next Top Model parody for the Writers Guild. She showed off her comedic abilities in the feature film Miss Castaway next to Eric Roberts and Michael Jackson. She showed her softer side as Claudia in the feature film Latin Dragon with Gary Busey. She was a series regular on NBC’s show Heist with Ted Danson. She played a vampire and fulfilled one of her dreams when she worked next to “Wonder Woman” Lynda Carter, who was Joyce’s childhood superhero, in the feature film Slayer. She currently plays “Angel” in the hit series Tyler Perry’s House of Payne, and most recently got a part in David Fincher’s The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.
