Born in Boston and raised in Istanbul, Jayda Berkmen finally settled down in Southern California at the age of 6.She left high school her sophomore year and went straight to college, where she took her first acting class.
Being known then as the mysterious quiet girl, she was magnetized to the art of becoming someone else. In 2008, Jayda graduated from the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in Los Angeles and has experienced much early success!
A few of her favorite projects are the iconic Corona commercials of the couple on the beach directed by Bennett Miller (Moneyball, Capote), getting her hands tied behind her back by Johnny Depp in Pirates of the Caribbean 4, and getting to work on camera in her family’s homeland, hosting the documentary Istanbul Unveiled www.istanbulunveiled.com (Summer 2013).
Jayda just celebrated the launch of ‘The Disappearance of the Universe’ www.dotutv.com, a pilot presentation in which she has a series regular role. The project has already garnered upcoming meetings with both CBS and Showtime. She is currently playing the character Maria in the newest installment of the video game series Doom. Jayda is also seeking new Theatrical Representation.
