Born in Auckland, New Zealand, Jade moved to Sydney Australia and began acting as a young child- appearing in commercial and modeling campaigns at just five years old.
As a child Jade studied various forms of dance including classical ballet, jazz, hiphop and Irish dancing for which she went on to compete and place at a national and international level. Although enjoying much success as a dancer, Jade always maintained her love for acting and was awarded an acting scholarship at the prestigious McDonald College of Performing Arts (1999-2003).
Jade has developed a solid career in television in Australia, appearing in a number of hugely successful, award winning shows such as Snobs, See How They Run and Big Sky, and the extremely popular Home and Away (whose other famous Alumni include Heath Ledger, Naomi Watts, Melissa George, Isla Fisher and Chris Hemsworth) among others. In addition, Jade has appeared in countless professional stage productions including Pan, The Present, Thirty -Three, The Diary of Anne Frank, That Old Chestnut, The Last Night in Ballyhoo, Blackrock and Anna Karenina in both lead and critical supporting roles and a number of independent films.
Her performance in these productions were praised by critics:
(For Blackrock) “The standout is newcomer Jade Oremus who, in brining such vulnerability to the character of Cherie, is compulsive to watch”- SunHerald.
(For The Last Night in Ballyhoo) “Jade Oremus is excellent as Sunny, skillfully carving out a full and endearing person out of a character which can often times seem one dimensional.” - The Daily Telegraph
(For The Present) “Jade Oremus brings a wonderful freshness as the young Savannah and makes a welcomed addition to the cast.” - Revolver Magazine.
Jade attended college at Macquarie University in Sydney where she achieved a Bachelor of Arts- Psychology followed by a Bachelor of Laws and graduated with honors in 2012 before being accepted as a lawyer in the New South Wales Supreme Court. Jade maintains that although these disciplines weren't technically related to entertainment her education gave her a better knowledge of human behavior and therefore ultimately deepened her understanding of acting.
In 2013 Jade moved to Los Angeles and has so far starred in two independent films; Shang and The Comedian which has received widespread international acclaim at film festivals across at country including winning the prestigious Short Sweet Film Festival of Ohio. The Comedian director cites Jade’s performance as “a primary factor in the films sudden and profound success.” Next up, Jade will star in the upcoming pilot Party Time produced by fellow Australian Emily O’Meara which is currently being pitched to networks across the country.
Jade studies acting under Academy member and Emmy Award winner Chick Vennera at The Renegade Film and Theatre Group in Hollywood.
