Starring in his first major film, Ethan Dizon, takes on the part of Pete, who is a penniless boy living in a Brooklyn project building in this heartwarming and inspirational film that has many critics raving about the exceptional acting by young actors Dizon and co-star Skylan Brooks as Mister.
After playing the role of a boy with a complex and muddled lifestyle, 11-year-old Ethan Dizon expresses his new found knowledge as Pete in The Inevitable Defeat of Mister and Pete. In a brief interview with Studio Talent Group, Dizon states that one of the things he learned the most while shooting the film came from watching Jeffery Wright’s acting. He says that Wright’s “gesturing and facial expressions were so real!”, and as we all can agree with Dizon, Jeffery Wright is one heck of an actor!
During the interview Dizon mentioned his interest in one day becoming a director after watching George Tillman work on set saying Tillman was “a very good teacher” and how he also taught him and Brooks about the struggles people face when living in the projects. Ethan says that he now has a much deeper understanding of the lives of people who face conditions such as those his character had to endure. He believes that this film will inspire many viewers to do whatever they can to help them.
Acting since he was two years old, Ethan Dizon says that his mom is his coach and his father takes him to all of his auditions and shoots. Enjoying Science and Social Studies at school, Dizon spends his spare time directing his own home movies, building robots, taking dips in the pool, playing some tunes on the piano and even catching some roller blading sessions. Oh, and not to mention his 4 year martial arts training, proving this is one tough kid!
