On March 10th, 2007, My Little Pretty, Yoga Army, and Scott Anastasi Realty presented a relaxing afternoon of pampering, shopping, and mingling at the Bel Age Hotel in West Hollywood. This event, the second annual Spa Boutique for a Cure, featured designers, spa services, indie rockers, and much more!

Now in its second year, Spa Boutique for a Cure is the brainchild of designer Kristy Nuttall, owner of My Little Pretty unique jewelry designs. This subject is close to Nuttall's heart-- when members of designer her family were affected by cancer, she decided to take action, creating an environment where like-minded designers could sell their wares and donate a percentage of the proceeds to worthy charities.
The first Spa Boutique for a Cure event was such a big hit, the program has grown exponentially! Each participant in the event was hand-picked because of their positive energy, and the vibe definitely reflected this careful selection. Everyone, from the vendors to the models to the bartenders to the people giving (and getting) massages seemed enthusiastic and happy to be working on behalf of such a good cause.

One key partner in the Spa Boutique for a Cure event was Yoga Army (www.yogaarmy.com). Designers Sandy Wee and Sebastian took time out of their increasingly-busy schedules to display samples from their new line, as well as selling some of their bestselling pieces like tanks, dresses, skirts, tops, and hoodies. Celebrity hostess April Scott (Dukes of Hazzard The Beginning, Entourage, Deal or No Deal) wore an original Yoga Army design, and new pieces were also shown on models. Sandy and Sebastian have been inspired by the huge response to their American-made clothing, and were proud to participate in the event.

Euforia Spatique (www.euforiadayspa.com) was there as well, selling pieces from their collection of yoga wear and lingerie as well as taking reservations for their popular day spa in Redondo Beach. Owner Teresa Workman said that she was proud to have Euforia represented in the event, and was planning to participate again in the fall.
Spa Boutique for a Cure guests were also able to peruse the popular jewelry line offered by Kristy Nuttall's company My Little Pretty (www.mylittlepretty.com), including necklaces, bracelets, and earrings for women as well as necklace from men's line MLP. My Little Pretty jewelry has been featured in magazines and on tv shows such as America's Next Top Model, and Gilmore Girls.

Guests enjoyed the services of many more companies as well, including JLee Couture, Lawd Knows, San Damian Collection, Don't Freak it's Faux, Toe Lounge, Live Love Shop, Teri Montoya photography, Jus Browsing, All About the Buckle, My Rebe, and Tee's with Heart.
Stylist Laurie Graham, who had a booth at the event, also enjoyed the overall vibe of the afternoon: "What I love most about participating in the Spa Boutique for a Cure Event is that this is the perfect way to spend a Saturday afternoon - shopping, listening to live music, getting a chair massage, and helping to raise money to find a cure for cancer. Throw in a chocolate truffle, and I may never leave!"

Spa Boutique for a Cure is an annual event that raises money for Breast and Ovarian Cancer Research and Early Detection. The money raised at this event will go directly to research and early detection of breast and ovarian cancer, new directions in treatment, to support awareness and wellness programs, and to aid families battling these diseases.
Guests were also invited to enter their names for door prize raffles, which were given out during the course of the day. Raffle prizes were offered by: Onna Ehrlich (www.onnaehrlich.com), Forplay (www.forplayonline.com), Manifesta Fiesta (www.manifestafiesta.com), Petite Spa (www.petitespa.net), La Bijou Belle Jewelry (www.labijoubelle.com), Betty Boop Store (www.bettyboopstore.com), and Leanna Lin Jewelry (www.leannalin.com), as well as a Dukes of Hazzard poster signed by April Scott.

Inspired by the success of these events, Kristy Nuttall has no plans to stop! This event has been so popular, you might get another chance to attend before the year is out! Look for the next Spa Boutique for a Cure event this fall. Nuttall hasn't had a chance to tally the overall funds raised by the benefit as of yet, but says that already, they've surpassed not only her expectations, but the overall funds raised for last year.
Shopping, spa treatments, stars, AND money raised for a good cause? Now, that's a combination that makes everyone feel good.
